Located in Queens, Citi Field was built as a replacement for Shea Stadium and is one of the newer ballparks. The stadium has unique features such as a giant apple-shaped home run apple that rises after a Mets home run and a replica of the the original Shea Stadium home run apple.

Citi Field is easily accessible via public transportation. The stadium is located next to the Mets-Willets Point Station on the 7 train, making it an easy commute for fans coming from various parts of Queens and Manhattan. Additionally, the Long Island Rail Road and multiple bus routes stop near the stadium.

The ballpark offers a wide range of culinary options, from classic ballpark food to globally-inspired dishes. There’s a Shake Shack burger stand, street tacos, sushi, eggplant parmigiana and more. Plus, I even spotted a vegan food stand with nachos and burgers.

The atmosphere at Citi Field is electric, with the fans cheering on their favorite team and stars like Pete Alonso. The bright lights and colorful displays on the jumbo screens draw the attention of everyone in attendance, while the energy from the fans makes every moment feel exciting.

The fans at Citi Field are a passionate group, whether the team is winning or losing. There’s a very specific pain that comes with being a Mets fan, but they still show up to the ballpark and cheer on their team with hope. Their unwavering support is a testament to their love for the game.

I would absolutely suggest a visit to Citi Field. Whether you’re a baseball fan or not, you’re sure to have a great time with tons of good food to pick from. And if you’re in New York and trying to pick between the two ballparks, Citi Field is the way to go.
